good mornin, good mo-oh-oh-rnin!

So this week has been great so far. I have gotten tons of feedback on my work and have been posting and uploading galleries day and night (it feels like). I was also asked to consider doing a Labor & Delivery photo session this coming September, which I am really really excited about. What an experience that will be. I am just honored to be considered for the job. For the rest of this week I am just going to continue to work on framealbumenvelope.com, post photos and shoot photos. This is fun. ;)
Oh! And hopefully we get to close on our beautiful house this Friday (or sooner, because I am shooting a wedding Friday). It is in the Westnedge Hill and I couldn't be more excited. It is also the location for the new studio!
Until next time!

Happy Wednesday!
After a lot of hard work and a lot of math, I put up my Senior picture packages! They save clients 30% on prints and and there are some pretty cool products included! Gallery wraps & proofbooks, oh my. I am looking into incorporating a hair/TRUEmakeup session at Blue 302 Salon & Spa in Kalamazoo. How cool would that be? Especially with the BFF package! Seniors today have it so good...:)

summer in the city (of kalamazoo)

Hi! It has been quite a summer so far. I have made an exciting incorporation to f:a:e...
A Canon 5D Mark II has joined the team. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only is this camera a magnificent piece of machinery, it is the most rewarding creative outlet I have ever experienced. I am hoping to expand frame : album : envelope to a photography-based company, and it all seems to be going well!
I didn't think I could get more wrapped up in Photoshop...it is amazing how much time I spend on that computer!! Color correcting is almost as fun to me as shooting. Can we say nerd?
Anyways, I will be working on my site, shooting as well as designing all summer long, so stay tuned!
Thanks for checking in.

inspiration

Ok, so I am just starting to get some real progress on with the site. I keep finding great new tricks and cool things to do to make frame : album : envelope awesome. I just love putting the site together...even though it is under MAJOR construction, I think it is still getting the point across. It has been so fun!

I just keep getting ideas from everything that I see.
Sometimes it seems like everything is just so inspiring. My last trip to Chicago to visit my friend Emily just filled me with creativity. Maybe it was a mix of good friends, art, conversation and wine...I came back to Michigan refreshed and ready to work. I love it, and only wish there were more hours in the day to do what I love the most- designing.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone!
This is my first blog for frame : album : envelope. My name is Melissa and I am the founder. Frame : album : envelope began after working as a graphic designer for my sister's photography clients. She is a talented photographer, specializing in newborn, childhood, family and wedding photography. We both share some of the many creative genes in our family and we just have a knack for knowing what looks good. I love designing to spark an emotion, whether it is a birth announcement, collage or wedding album.
Anyways, the site (www.framealbumenvelope.com) is very much under construction, but I am plugging away at it and hopefully it will be sooner than later. ;) Jennifer (my sister) is working on her site too...it will be www.jenniferketchumphotography.com.
thanks,
Melissa
